About

Eric Hallett (1897–1978) was a pharmacist and chemist by profession, but his true passion lay in the English countryside. In his spare time, he travelled locally, capturing villages, buildings, and landscapes through meticulous pen-and-ink drawings and watercolours.

A skilled draughtsman with a keen eye for detail, Hallett created carefully observed studies that document a quieter, timeless England. His work reflects both precision and affection for place, preserving scenes that might otherwise have faded from memory.

Today, his drawings are presented as fine art prints, continuing his legacy and offering a glimpse into the character and charm of rural England.

The original drawings are preserved within a collection of albums, including Eric’s working sketchbooks and later display volumes created for their safekeeping.

These are carefully stored in darkness to protect and preserve them for the future.

Each piece has been meticulously photographed using controlled studio lighting to ensure a faithful and accurate reproduction of tone and colour.
